Hello, hi, welcome!
Please come in and gather 'round the table for a recipe that's SO easy, SO good, you'll be wondering where it's been all your life! This ain't your average chives cream cheese, oh no. This creamy goodness is bursting with fresh chives and a secret nutty flavor that'll have your taste buds giggling with joy!
Full disclosure: I may or may not have eaten an entire batch by the spoonful straight outta the mixing bowl. Don't judge, it's THAT good!
But seriously, this creamy dream isn't just for eating by the spoonful or scooping with crunchy multi-seed crackers (although isn't it just THE BEST?). Spread it on sourdough toast or soft bagel halves for a breakfast of champions. Or dunk your favorite veggie sticks in there for a satisfying snack situation.
Is it a dip or a spread? You can debate me aaall day long, I'll let you win either way. All I know is that it's crazy delicious (and unapologetically dippable and spreadable).
OMG, the secret flavor boost weapon! (Can you tell I'm excited about this dip?) Flaxseed oil! Also known as flax oil, don't let the fancy name scare you – it just adds this nutty, toasty goodness that perfectly complements the fresh, oniony bite of the chives.
And you guessed it already? This dip/spread isn't just yummy, it's also super good for you! Flaxseed oil is loaded with omega-3s, 6s, and 9s, those fancy fatty acids that keep your veg-lovin' bod happy and healthy. Plus, it's been known to help with hormonal harmony (hello, ladies!) and even fight off osteoporosis. A powerful oil and a powerful little dip, indeed, right?
Flaxseed Oil Tip:
The flax oil is a non-negotiable for this chives cream cheese dip, but since it's so so good I hope you'll treat yourself to a little bottle of organic flax oil. And when I say little, I mean it! Flax oil goes rancid easily, so I like buying it in smaller bottles and, once opened, keeping it in the fridge.
Also good to know: Use flax oil cold, no heating allowed. Think salads and dips and spreads, or drizzled pure on a slice of wholemeal bread and sprinkled with sea salt. Yum, yum, yummy-licious!
Ok, 'nough raving about the flax oil, let's get back to (our chives cream cheese dipping) business.
Will you give this spread a try? Will you let me know what you think? (And be honest, did you eat it by the spoonful too?)
